"When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without taking responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good. When I have been listened to, when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and go on. It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens. How confusions that seem irremediable become relatively clear flowing streams when one is heard." Carl Rogers

"Listening looks easy, but it's not simple. Every head is a world." Cuban Proverb

"Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eye for an instant?" Henry David Thoreau

"Yet, taught by time, my heart has learned to glow for other's good, and melt at other's woe." Homer

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these." George Washington Carver

Empathic Ear is a counseling/coaching/problem-solving service
offered by Germinal Knowledge

Coaching, counselling and psychotherapy are all (not so) different approaches to problem solving. After years of training and practice in all these areas, I now prefer to think of myself as a "problem solver". But, there is no such official profession of "problem solver". So, this is the invention.

So, here is what I do: I listen. I ask questions. I find out what the nature of the problem is. If it is a problem that I do not have the qualifications to help solve (for example, a medical problem), I will help you find someone who can help.

If your problem is within my purvue, I first try to understand your way of thinking about the problem to the point that we can "think together". Then, we start to solve the problem, but with an additional twist: As we think through the problem, question all the perceptions, examine all the alternatives, we also, in parallel, step back and look at the problem solving process we are going through. The objective here is to give you a methodology for problem solving for life.

My primary areas of expertise in Coaching are:
